Two Churches Battle It Out with Their Signs...

I know I promised that the next blog would be about the Ash Wednesday service last week (I hope to still get to that today) but my sister sent me this and, in the interest of church unity in the broader expressions of Christianity, I thought I would share it with you.

Apparently, these two churches - one Presbyterian and one Catholic - are across the street from each other and their theological differences spilled over onto their church signs when the Catholics placed "All Dogs Go to Heaven" on their sign...

  1. Yes...I do realize this is photo-shopped, but still, it was pretty good. Thanks, Sis!

This post generated quite a bit of comment on my facebook page as to the eternal future of animals.

  2. Greetings to one and all:

As for as animals are concerned, I have a great love for animals. I see a lot of dogs who have been just dumped by their master and left to roam the streets. This is a very cold and hard hearted thing for a person to do.

In my way of seeing this...a person who would just dump their animal for them to make it or die trying, wouldn't be all that beyond dumping their children also, if times would get very rough for them.

What it amounts to is the degree of love a person has. If their love is very shallow they can do a thing like this, and go to bed at night without it bothering them one bit.

For most who would come under this category have seared their conscious, or are very close to doing so.

Our God is love, and love prepares for its own.
If a animal dies or is killed, you can well believe preparations have been made for it by our God.

Those preparations may be: To simply cease to exist. Love may have also made provisions for them to continue to exist within another realm.
God's thoughts and ability is far above what our little finite mind can comprehend.

Whether they cease to exist or exist within an altogether different realm, it would not make a lot of difference. For if they would cease to exist, it would be as though they had never been born.

As for as animals that are pets such as dogs and birds and so on...they most probably were only provided by our God to add a little sunshine into some person's life anyway. Jesus said: That not even a small sparrow can fall to the ground without our Father knowing about it. He is also touched by the feelings of our infirmities. Yes, our God loves each of us and cares about our welfare far more than most people realize.

We who are Christian's serve a great big wonderful God, one who loves every one of us. He also loves those who are not lovable and works toward bring them into the fold. As we know many are just to rebellious and want to cling to their presumptuous ways.

Making mention of those two churches battling it out, with their signs: that is simply carnality: it also is an indicator of their need to move up a little closer within their relationship with the Lord, Jesus.
Much love to one and all. Your brother in Christ Jesus our most wonderful Lord and Savior.
